11.2 ounce bottle - $5.50 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours out a translucent, darkened gold body with an assemblage of large bubbles slowly, lazily feeding a simple, white head. Smell: Nothing too appealing or inviting; grainy husk notes with some meager hints of tired spicy, herbal hops. Taste: Bready, conspicuously husky mixture of both pale and pils malts with a faint degree of supporting sweetness. Spicy, vaguely herbaceous hops with a low level of bitterness to counter. The flavors quickly washes out beyond a hint of pervasive buttery diacetyl until reaching the quite dry, crisp finish. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: Subpar but essentially tolerable (at best). Perhaps when in Lebanon you could get it LebanON with Almaza, but, otherwise, it’s best to just pass it by.

Bottle from an Arabic market in Vista, CA: The six-pack of bottles were all past their expiration date which expired in July of 2009 and being that it is December, I just knew they wouldn’t taste that fresh. Anyways, the liquid was a golden blonde with little formation of head. Aroma was sweet and strong of malt almost to the point this smelled exactly like a Goya malt beverage instead of a beer. The flavor has slowly deteriorated into a sweet messy malt goop that has lot any positive good tasting flavors that are found in a solid pilsner offering. Somehow I also believe that even fresh this beer wouldn’t have measured up to the European countries that make pilsners, but my father was insistent that this was one of the world’s best beers, but I had already knew he was biased since he is from Beirut, Lebanon.

Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Wasn’t expecting to score some leb.....Typical lagery appearance, clear golden with a tidy white head. Grainy aroma and flavour with trace hop. Not as bad as anticipated, but I won’t be rushing to drink this again.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Rasmus H. Clear golden with a white head. Clean malt aroma. Medium body, clean malts and an edge of cardboard. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. Quite a decent Pils. 261009
