Cole’s Italian tasting. A smokey aroma, like a smoked. Dark smokey grey colour. A lot of lace though a thin head. Hard to drink, yes the scotch whiskey is prominent. Some sugar and honey which makes it sweetness into a sipper. A unique combination, and detracts from drinkability.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Smoky, malty buttery aroma with a hint of tobacco. Malty buttery smoked beechwood flavor. Soft but persistant in the aftertaste.

Slightly hazy dark amber with a lasting, creamy off-white head. Caramel aroma with weak bacon notes. Sweet and malty flavour with phenolic notes, and a little alcohol. Funny enough idea, but I’m not a fan

From the Bottle at Chris O’s 06/08/2009 Malt aroma. Amber red coloured strong in alcohol a little rich on the palate and pale with a little bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Bottle, sampled at Cole’s Italian Beer Tasting: Dark amber color, topped off by a thin white head. Smoked malt aroma with subtle toffee notes in the background. Very nice smokey and sweet malt flavors with some light whiskey and oak notes. A pretty solid beer, that I wouldn’t mind having again.

Bottle at Cole’s - Buffalo
Appearance: light hazed brown shaded ale , light fizzy top.
Nose: smoky front , peat ,ash , meaty dry feel.
Flavor/Palate : mid bodied , bold , straight smoky character. Oily , roasty meats with leafy tobacco smoke. Alcohol almost non visible (8.7%?). Good strongly smoked ale.

Purchased at Khory’s in Vegas.. or Henderson. Nice large, bubbly tan head on top of a soft chestnut coloured beer with decent retention. The aroma is interesting: chestnuts, plum, candy, similar to an English barley wine - comes across very fresh. The taste is really good, yum yum I will say. Mild dark fruit and warming, toffee, hint of smoke, weakest of chocolate and something similar to anise. Good carbonation, fresh, soft biscuity dryness on the finish. Big marks for the good use of chestnuts.

Bottle at Cropredy from my GBBF haul ... deep opache redy orange ... sweet malty nose ... thin white head ... soft toffee malts ... sweet caramle ... peach and apricot ... little spice in linger.
