Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy and biegaman, blankboy’s bottle. Pale gold, slightly hazy, smallish head. Aroma is initially a little barnyard, but ultimately mild cereal grain and citrus/peach, perhaps a touch of paper. Taste is decent light citrus malt, dry stale hop, quick finishing. Watery fizzy body, slightly papery aftertaste - just okay.

Draft at O’briens. Alpine kicks butt with another pale ale. Awesome smells of hops and citrus. Flavors are smooth but hoppy. Interesting interpretation of a pale ale. Reminded me of an east coast iipa.

On tap at O’Brien’s. Clear golden color with a nice white head. Citrus-hop aromas. A little more malt in the flavor than in the aromas, but still strong hops. Not surprised that Alpine’s APA was more IPA since their IPA is more DIPA and their DIPA is .... well... Exponential!. Pretty good stuff.

On draught at O’Briens. Arrives clear golden amber with a small head and nice bubble streams. Nice pale ale aroma, toasty malts, fruity floral hops and a bit of lemon. Bold flavor, buiscuity, toasty malts, citrus, juicy, crips hoppiness, nice bitter sweet finish with hints of toffee. Medium body, tingly carbonation. Very nice session ale.

Bomber from cbkschubert; Nose of citrusy hops, caramel, and yeast; Urine yellow color with an absolutely huge yellowish head; flavor of mild hop bitterness, caramel, and some sugary sweetness. Good, but not great!

22oz bottle from Joey at southbaydrugsandliquor, thanks! Pours a clear light orange with a one finger offwhite head, lowish retention. Aroma of grapefruity and floral hops, and some caramel and bisuity malts. There is also a hint of earth. Flavor is caramelly sweet, but before it can get very sweet some pine and grapefruit bitter things out a bit. This guy never gets too sweet or bitter--nicely balanced. Bitterness peaks at a 3 ( out of 10). Burps pine. Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. A solid APA that probably won’t make hopheads happy, but then they should be drinking IPA’s and IIPA’s.

(Bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a medium fluffy off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and some pine notes. Flavor of hops and caramel malt; nice balance with light, crisp bitterness in the finish.

From bottle and on draft...Might be the best APA i’ve had the chance to try. Definately underrated because it isn’t the hop monster of its big bro Pure Hoppiness. But nonetheless, is a perfectly balanced, lighter beer, and very good if you are in the mood for a thirst quencher... I plan on pouring myself a glass for the beach asap.
