Tasted from Growler after getting my 4 BA Numbskulls at Alesmith. Poured a deeper amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of skunky weed, floral green hops, citrus, and lightly bready. Tastes of the same skunky-floralness, with citrus and some caramel. Alcohol content well hidden.

Growler… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown!… Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Spicy, peppery, earthy hop nose. Full-bodied and chewy with gentle carbonation. Leans toward the sweet side of balance. Sweet toffee and caramel malts outweigh bitter, spicy hops. Lengthy, bittersweet finish.

On tap at the Liars Club on 11/30/06: Pours a clear deep golden bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet pale malt and fresh piny grapefruity hops. Starts sweet, caramely malty and viscous among a ton of fresh, green piny hops, thinning slightly toward a bittersweet finish. A pretty nice double IPA.

Cask at 2009 PP Real Ale Fest: Transparent orange bronze with a thin, wispy white head. Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and sweet pale malt. Body starts with good toasty toffee malty sweetness with some light fruity notes and a ton of fresh citrusy flavoring hop balance before a crisp bittersweet finish. A very nice IIPA.

Tasted on tap at the 2006 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. This Imperial IPA pours a light to medium orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruity and earthy. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are citrusy, grapefruity and piney. Lots of bittering hops. Orange and citrus highlights throughout. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Medium bitterness IPA with a lot of fruit flavors. Nice beer, hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Growler. Pours gold with a stable 2 finger head. Nose is beautifally hoppy as I would expect from the hop masters at Alpine. I’ll agree with Kevin aka bikesandbeer not quite as hoppy in the taste more citrussy and sweet, but then again thats the kind of beer Alpine makes that I can drink by the growler. Damn thats sweet and yummy. Nice beer to have after a couple of margaritas.

On tap at Toronado, SD. Pours bright gold with no head. Has an incredible aroma of green onions and cut green grass in the Spring. The flavor is downright parching and painful with a HUGE midpoint bitterness. This astrigency clings to the palate long after the beer is finished. Great aroma, odd taste. Perhaps a bit too much for me?
