The aroma has notes of ripe raspberry, fig, chocolate, smoke, grassy hops and an earthy element. The taste is quite yummy with tart raspberry covered in bittersweet chocolate. There is a smoky finish with hints of grains of paradise. The mouth feel is smooth, lush, and oily. This is pretty nice with the interplay of fruit and chocolate, Mikey Likey. Had to try this after not having any of the Nickel variety. This is barrel aged captain stout with raspberries. Pours black with a thin tan head. The nose is full or raspberries and malt, with a hint of wood from the barrel. Taste is sweet, fruity and robust. The raspberry nicely balances with the other characteristics in the beer. The taste is well rounded and sweet and overall damn nice. Great mouth feel, very drinkable.
