Dec 26, 2008 Pours an oily opaque with a small, spotty-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, dark chocolate and a good amount of bourbon oak with a touch of tobacco. Starts full bodied and lightly sweet with a roasty bitter balance and bourbon complexity before a alightly drier finish with a hint of tartness. A pretty good bourbon aged imperial stout.

Dec 24, 2008 Oh my. Another great stout. Lots of coffee, chocolate, and roast. These are the main ingredients. Add that slightly tart finish, and you have a great stout. Lots of folks do this style right, and Alpine is one of them. Great beer.

Dec 23, 2008 Bottle shared with Marcus. Dark, dark brown color with a great tan head. Fantastic chocolate aroma. Full body with frothy/creamy carbonation. Flavors of coffee and chocolate. Arguably some bourbon. A little smokiness. Some dark fruits. Finishes barrelly, maybe oaky. Pretty darn good beer. Drinks well.

Dec 23, 2008 Another beer shared by wolf. Light black in color, good head. Nice taste of roasted malt and coffee but some where in the middle there is a tart taste. In the after taste is when you could pick up on some of the bourbon. There are some dark fruits in there as well, no trace of alcohol. Well hidden. Average texture and carbonation level. Its not overdone like some other bourbon aged beers. Good beer. Thanks wolf..

Dec 22, 2008 Bottle shared with bhensonb. This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head that lasted about one minute. There is an intense chocolate and coffee aroma with some alcohol fumes. There is a smoky prune flavor with an oak finish. This is a strange brew that requires some time to appreciate. By the end of the glass I was satisfied.Thanks Bill.

Dec 22, 2008 Bottle shared at toncatchers house. Dark black pour with decent head. Aromas of dark dried fruit and some sweet malts. Some bitterness added to the flavor. Burnt malt bitterness and some hoppiness. Not too bad.

Dec 20, 2008 Barrel Aged Boris at the tasting at the Bruery. Pours with a black body and a sparse off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, plums, raisins, figs, jerky and chocolate. Taste is yeasty with soy, chocolate and licorice. Silky smooth with light bubbles.

Dec 20, 2008 Bomber. Tasty impy with plenty of vanilla and oak to go along with a decent amount of bitterness. I really like the mouthfeel of this, nice balance between silkiness and carbonation. Real good.
