Commercial Description:
Boris is a hearty Imperial Stout that is aged in 10 year old Bourbon barrels. We’ve added a custom blend of cold brewed coffee to enhance the complexity. You’ll love the rich maltiness with hints of chocolate and dark fruit in this formidable brew

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and roasted malt as well as light notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, coffee, roasted malt, and vanilla, as well as light notes of alcohol, leading to a dry and roasted finish. The alcohol bites the tongue. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Black color; creamy head. Musky aroma, roasted malt, vanilla; maybe some cardboard later. Medium body, it has some roasted malt flavor, liquorice; the mouthfeel is drier than the average Imperial Stout, there is a light sourness (from the roasted malt) and too much alcohol, getting rather unpleasant. Missing sweetness. Unbalanced. Not impressive.

#5 Bottle. [Papso Shady blind Tasting 2009] Average brown thick creamy head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of heavy roasted malt, dried fruit, vinous, chocolate, coffee. Over the palate came heavy roasted malt, bitter liquorish, wood like notes, coffee. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick alcoholic texture. Heavy bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering roasted and alcoholic finish. 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 16 = 4.0

Bomber. Thanks, Yonkers! Pours opaque blackish brown with a lacy tan head. Aroma of alcohol and coffee. Medium body and light carbonation. Got some coffee and a bit of oak but the bourbon seems to MIA. Hot alcohol finish.

Black with big light brown head. Nice coffee and chocolate aroma. In addition to more chocolate and coffee in the taste, tons of dark fruit comes out. A little nutty oak, but not much bourbon presence at all. Just too fruity for a BA Imperial Stout in my eyes. Bitter finish. Not a drain pour by any means, but way below the top tier of impy stouts.

From bottle, blind #5. Pours dark brown to black with a huge tan head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate and vanilla aroma. Light smoked, acidic, roasted and light chocolate to vanilla flavoured. Lasting vanilla and smoked base flavour into the far finish. Light acidic lasting note.
