Pours a dark brown to black with a light brown head. Aroma of hops, barley, roast, chocolate malt. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, oily, overly cloying and a really seems off or odd. Didn’t really care for this one.

Bottle at bockyhorsey’s pad. Pours black with a reddish tint and a tan head. Huge with bourbon and coffee in the aroma. Has a dry mouthfeel with a port sweetness to it. Nice, but the parts are somehow better than the whole.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a thick, sudsy, sepia head. Nose is coffee, oak, hints of smoke and dusty prunes. Medium body but smoothness lost with prominent sharp carb. Taste starts with dark roast, dilute vodka and grass. Pretty harsh. Finishes with Baker’s chocolate and bourbon.

(bottle from stefanje, thanks!) Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma is really disappointing and dominated by stale coffee grounds, which also imparts a smell of a freshly cracked walnut. There’s also some cocoa in here, and as the beer warms up, a scent of baked brownies replaces that stale coffee. The taste is lightly sour, with spent coffee grounds, wet wood, vanilla, and a hefty dose of sharp alcohol on the finish. The beer is overcarbonated to the point of being obnoxious, and the mouthfeel is very thin for an impy.

Bottle from City Beer Store in SF. Pours black and heavy with a brown head. Coffee, roasted malt, and alcohol on the aroma. Same on the flavor, plus cola and some dark chocolate. Big alcohol bite, slightly unpleasant. A little light on the palate for the style. Pretty enjoyable overall though.

Bottle, thanks to alexanderj. Black, thick pour with some light brown head. Aroma is some rich roast, molasses, woody bourbon with light vanilla, and some milk chocolate. Flavor is a little messy, it includes all of the above, but just seems mushed together. Sweet dark malt, roast and woody bourbon.
