| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2008 It pours deep darkness with brown edges and mocha brown head. The aroma is full with dusty dark fruitiness, bourbon booze, oak and full on coffee and earthy goodness. The taste begins with smooth oak notes and mild bourbon that quickly moves into dark roasted coffee and rich dark chocolate. It seems to dry out with some tannins and a red wine sensation. The dark chocolate also gives it a somewhat dry note too into the finish. Very nice. Mette (224), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Despite all the negative reviews of this beer, I actually thought it was a very good beer. I didn’t get any of the off flavors described by the other raters at all. Poured a viscous black with a dark brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and sweet bourbon. Ridiculously smooth mouthfeel with flavors of mocha, bitter dark chocolate bourbon and dark brown sugar. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
