Bottle #5 at Papsø’s blindtasting. Pitch black coloured with a medium sized beige head. Roasted aroma of oak and hops with notes of coffee and cocoa powder. Roasted flavour of oak, hops, coffee and cocoa powder. Roasted, oaky and hoppy finish. Nice.

From bottle, blind #5. Pours dark brown to black with a huge tan head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate and vanilla aroma. Light smoked, acidic, roasted and light chocolate to vanilla flavoured. Lasting vanilla and smoked base flavour into the far finish. Light acidic lasting note.

It pours deep darkness with brown edges and mocha brown head. The aroma is full with dusty dark fruitiness, bourbon booze, oak and full on coffee and earthy goodness. The taste begins with smooth oak notes and mild bourbon that quickly moves into dark roasted coffee and rich dark chocolate. It seems to dry out with some tannins and a red wine sensation. The dark chocolate also gives it a somewhat dry note too into the finish. Very nice.

1st rating. Tap @ The Brewery, on the day of its release November 8th. Tap @ Brewery. Amazingly awesome pour, black with a big light brown head. Nose is super coffee and big bourbon. Taste is extremely smooth and rich with lots of character. Great Bourbon Impy

Bottle purchased at beverages for less in Santee. Lots of bourbon flavor but in the right way. Some chocolate, lots of coffee and some sweetness. Very good!

Bottle from the stone bistro. Despite all the negative reviews of this beer, I actually thought it was a very good beer. I didn’t get any of the off flavors described by the other raters at all. Poured a viscous black with a dark brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and sweet bourbon. Ridiculously smooth mouthfeel with flavors of mocha, bitter dark chocolate bourbon and dark brown sugar.

Bomber. Tasty impy with plenty of vanilla and oak to go along with a decent amount of bitterness. I really like the mouthfeel of this, nice balance between silkiness and carbonation. Real good.
