Commercial Description:
The Captain is leader of a fire crew. This beer takes charge of your taste buds with its rich flavor. Roasty malt character that has hints of chocolate and coffee which balances the smooth, velvety finish. The thick, creamy head lasts and lasts, leaving lace in your glass as your beer disappears. This beer pairs well with food. Great with dinner or as breakfast or even with a rich vanilla-bean ice cream. 1.060 OG 31 IBU 6%ABV

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, roasted malt, alcohol, and wood, as well as a light note of bourbon. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of roasted malt, wood, soy sauce, and chocolate, as well as light notes of bourbon, leading to a dry and bitter finish. But the body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Black with a tan head. Medium dark roasty malt aromas with milk chocolate. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Good roasty malt flavors with lightly sweet milk chocolate again. Drys out some for the finish. Very good.

Darker brown color with a big roasty coffee/chocolate aroma. Flavor seemed a bit bland, though drinkable with roast and dark chocolate. Thin feel. OK, but subpar for these guys.
