Nice notes of sesame, chocolate, smoke, roastiness, coffee, and a slight bitter finish. Nose was choclate and malt. One of the better single stouts I’ve had - full flavored without being overly pickled. DubC5000 (202), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2008 Draught Black beer with a yellow rim. Roasted chocolate - smelling as chocolate buns being warmed too long. Roasted, chocolate and some cigar - some roasted barley? Not very thick, medium bodied. Reasonable stout. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Growler fill. Deep black with a thick light brown head that lingers a bit. Sweet toasted malt aroma, with molasses, plums, baked goods. Rich oatmeal taste hits right away, then fades to toasted malt, dark fruits and chocolate. Slight lingering maltyness. Very nice.
