Commercial Description:
The Captain is leader of a fire crew. This beer takes charge of your taste buds with its rich flavor. Roasty malt character that has hints of chocolate and coffee which balances the smooth, velvety finish. The thick, creamy head lasts and lasts, leaving lace in your glass as your beer disappears. This beer pairs well with food. Great with dinner or as breakfast or even with a rich vanilla-bean ice cream. 1.060 OG 31 IBU 6%ABV

I actually liked this stout a lot. Chocolaty, yet not too much. Hoppy - but barely. Nice notes of sesame, chocolate, smoke, roastiness, coffee, and a slight bitter finish. Nose was choclate and malt. One of the better single stouts I’ve had - full flavored without being overly pickled.

On tap at O’briens pub. Smooth, sweet, salty, and slightly smoky, this stout tasted and felt like a campfire-side chocolate milk.

Pours black with a beige head. Quite sweet with a light bitterness. Heavy malt aromas of chocolate and coffee. Also aromas of vanilla. Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Lively carboanation. Short dry finish with a bit of chocolate.

Draught Black beer with a yellow rim. Roasted chocolate - smelling as chocolate buns being warmed too long. Roasted, chocolate and some cigar - some roasted barley? Not very thick, medium bodied. Reasonable stout.

Bottle shared at Dr. Bill’s party. Thanks to whomever brought it. This is a very nice, drinkable stout with some nice roastiness.

Growler fill. Deep black with a thick light brown head that lingers a bit. Sweet toasted malt aroma, with molasses, plums, baked goods. Rich oatmeal taste hits right away, then fades to toasted malt, dark fruits and chocolate. Slight lingering maltyness. Very nice.

Somewhat murky dark brown. Big fudgey nose with cocoa notes and light coffee. Actually somewhat thin, with cookie dough accents, and a hint of toast and chocolate.

Brown with lots of big head, lace dots. Sour brown, lactic, starts sweet and then becomes sour. Mouthfeel is smooth, with coffee and chocolate notes.
