Pours clear pink (filtered? it’s not bottle conditioned, at least). Nose is soft cream, mellow lactobacillus prickliness, fruit note is tart but candied and resembles jolly ranchers without the extreme sweetness. Prickly and soft up front, medium frothiness, mild sourness, mild acidity, leaves a lasting dry tartness on the tongue. Good overall, I like it, especially the lingering dryness, but the rest of it, I like it but I’m not exactly sure why, Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2008 Pinkish yellowish color. Small white head that unfortunately doesn’t have any pink shades. Fairly nice nose with hints of cherries, as well as some wood. Flavor doesn’t have a lot of depth, but has some nice elements of cherry , sourness and wood. Nice balance of sweet and sour. I like this ale quite a bit. puzzl (2650), New York, New York, USA

Very buttery, oaky aroma, a touch of cherry flesh. Taste has loads of cherry up front and in the finish, but is blocked by some chemically character most of the way through. Decent acid with a nice touch of complimentary sweetness. fiver29 (732), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Bottle pours a reddish color with a off white head. Has a nice tart aroma with some cherries added in. Flavor follows with some nice tart cherry, lemon, some must flavors, and finishes with a mellow tartness that I like. Overall this is nice brew. I am glad I got the chance to try it. bhops (334), Dallas, Texas, USA

Tart, cherry flavor with backing lemon, green apple, and oak. Medium body. Tart/sour lingers with the fruitiness in balance. Acetic in background. Refreshing. Not bad. A sweet body with a very tart flavor for an american sour. A beautiful red color with a faint cloudiness. One of the best American sours I’ve had on par with offerings from the Lost Abbey and Russian river. Alpine continues to impress as one of the best breweries I’ve ever tried.
