Tap at O’Brien’s: Poured a hazy deep copper color with a small tan head. The aroma was pretty sweet and fruity and coated in alcohol. Both barrel and high abv kind. Dark fruits and sugar. The flavor matches for the most part. Dark fruits and alcohol. The full bodies sticky sweetness gave balance to all the alcohol. Very warming. Makes it easier to sit on the deck in that wind tunnel.

On tap at O’Briens on 11/30/06: Pours a transparent dark copper with a nicely-lacing light tan head. Complex molten raisin, brown sugar and maple syrup aroma has pleasant toasty oak notes. Body starts sweet dark caramely and viscous with lots of plum and raisin dark fruitiness toward a full, complex, warming finish. A very interesting and enjoyable beer.

Tap @ O’Brien’s. Double barrel aged. Not sure if this is different from the regular Great. Murky brown color on pour. Aroma is of wood and wine. Strong cabernet-like aroma. Some alcohol. Flavor is strong on alcohol and whiskey. Very strong and ineresting. Had this beer rated under "Great" since 11/06, but have moved it here since i see that someone has added it.
