22oz bottle from southbay. tasted side by side with alpine nelson.... duet pours a reddish orange brown as compared to the more golden nelson. both exhibited and medium soapy white head that quickly dissipated.... aroma of pine and tropical/citrus hop. a little more resiny and earthy than nelson.... piney citrus hops dominated the flavor with a more earthy, more subdued lingering bitterness in the finish. the middle added a sweet tropical fruit dimension to it to balance out the hops... damn alpine makes some very nice ipa/dipas.

22 oz from South Bay Drugs. Intense and gorgeous aroma. Pine and grapefruit in the taste. Big flavors. I do get a wow factor here. Lovely taste. Could drink this all day.

22 oz. bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours copper with a thin off-white head. Big and clean pine, grapefruit, and fresh cut grass aroma. Bitter hop flavor of pine balanced with a sweeter tangerine. Very drinkable. Nice lacing with this one. Nothing with a big wow factor here, just a very well done IPA. Excellent stuff.

On tap at GABF 2009. This is my 100th IPA rating, most of any style for me, and what a good one to commemorate that life-changing milestone. Clear golden-copper color with a substantial white head. Aroma is lots of piney, citrusy hoppy goodness and a little sweet malt. Flavor is a touch of sweet malt, then loads of fresh piney and citrusy hops. Some pineapple and orange notes. Really tasty. Medium-bodied with a crisp and refreshing palate. Overall this is another awesome IPA from Alpine. UPDATE 11/2009: Had this again at Hamilton’s in San Diego. Just a great IPA. Previous review confirmed.

Thanks to whomever brought this to The Bruery’s Beer Geek Show & Tell. Clear golden amber pour with a white head, it’s very dry on the palate and has a lot of citric hops up front with some malt balance on the back.

On tap at Stone 8/20. Clear amber with a strong white head. Fruity hops on the nose. Pine and citrus. Good sharpness in the mouth with fruityness behind. Nice.

This was poured from a growler purchased at Alpine and I also had a glass on tap at O’Brien’s the day before. Bright orange color with a white head that really laced the glass. The smell was a little pine but mostly bright fresh citrus fruit, excellent. The flavor was like nectarines and oranges, so juicy and hoppy, fantastic. This beer really impressed the hell out of me and I hope I can get my hands on a couple bottles if they release them. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 09-21-2009 23:17:50

Growler- Huge thank you to my best friends Tyson and Kristen Richart. I couldn’t have asked for anything better for my 200th rating!!! She poured a Yellow 1 finger medium-small bubble head. Nice hoppy aroma, grass, pine, and citrus. Strong grapefruit hops flavor with a very well balanced pine/earthy bill. Behind the grapefruit lies a nice orange/lemon peel finish. Dry with a touch of pine spices. Kind of makes me want to walk in the woods. Almost a perfect IPA.
