I couldn’t have asked for anything better for my 200th rating!!! She poured a Yellow 1 finger medium-small bubble head. Nice hoppy aroma, grass, pine, and citrus. Strong grapefruit hops flavor with a very well balanced pine/earthy bill. Behind the grapefruit lies a nice orange/lemon peel finish. Dry with a touch of pine spices. Kind of makes me want to walk in the woods. Almost a perfect IPA. tokyogoat (576), San Diego, California, USA

Nose was huge on grassy and citrus hops.
Taste was just slammed with very oily hoppiness. Brilliant blend of piney and citrusy c-hops. Very light in body really highlights the hops. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2009 Short rating (’cause I’m @ work right now...) Pour from a growler. Aroma dripping with resin and fruit rind. Light crusty malt. Peaches and some pears. Slightly floral with some grass and herbs as well. Crystal clear golden pour with a resilient fluffy white head. Minimal lacing. Flavor is quite dry. I was expecting quite a bit more based on the aroma. Lost of dry, crusty and bready malt. Slightly spicy and resinous hops. Herbal and crackery. Medium bodied. Average carbonation with a bone dry finish. Decent. Thanks Randall! elihapa (1069), Honolulu, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2009 On tap, this was my last one at Blue Palms Anniversary. And I wasn’t exactly a sober rater. That said, this beer was fabulous. It confirms that Alpine has now joined Pizza Port as my favorite makers of the IPA style. Aroma is heavily floral, herbal and lemony. Flavor stays with the floral theme, as well as that distinct lemony-zest note that I also detected in Bad Boy and Nelson Rye. Really lovely. Palate is medium bodied throughout, with prickly refreshing effervescence. Finishes hop-bitter, yet clean. My kind of beer. BMan1113VR (2943), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Nice grassy, pine and herbal hop aroma. Taste is dry with herbal and dank citrus hop flavors, very light sweet grain flavors. Low residual sweetness. Dry mouthfeel. Sweet malt, spicy hops, oranges, grass, grapfruit, and notes of tropical fruit. Pretty sweet for an IPA. Silky cask mouthfeel. Mmmm ratman197 (3262), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of straw, orange and light lemon. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, lemon and light orange with a smooth dry moderatly bitter finish. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Growler from the brewery on release day, consumed the next day. Hazy gold-light orange with a sticky white head. Ripe apricot, sweet grapefruit and lots of tangy nectarine in the aroma. Like a tangy hop-fruit salad. Almost no malt in the flavor, just pure fruity and spicy hop flavor. More bitterness in the finish than Nelson, though still not strongly bitter. Medium-light body with a dry finish. More of a classic fruit hop profile than the grapey nelson, but very tasty. One of the most drinkable IPAs that I’ve ever had. Alpine is owning the IPA segment right now with a handful of amazing examples that all have their own flare.
