On cask at the Real Ale Festival at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Hazy yellow color with a classic foamy cask appearance. Sweet orange and grapefruit citrus aroma. Nice sessionable flavor with medium bitterness. Simcoe hops come into play in the finish with a peppery and piny palate. Kind of lacking depth, but pretty tasty.

Aug 16, 2008 On tap @ O’Briens. Dark straw color, nice looking layer of dense white head. Interesting strong hop aroma - some citrus, but real grassy also, with a skunky cat piss aroma that wasn’t entirely bad. Real hoppy start to the taste - pepper and pine with a sweet backing. I liked it.

Aug 15, 2008 Growler… RBSG’08… Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Great retention. Earthy pine and grapefruit aroma. Medium-bodied with ticklish carbonation. Pleasant, numbing hop bitterness… not overbearing. Low sweetness with the tiniest pinch of salt. Finishes moderately bitter, and then dry.

Aug 11, 2008 RBSG at Obrien’s. I took Christians advice and tried this out, good thing, it was a really nice beer. Well balanced, very floral hops that give a pine and apricot note. Crisp palate with lingering spicy hop note into the finish.

Aug 9, 2008 On tap At O’Brien’s in San Diego on 08/01/2008 on the RBSG Friday Pub Crawl. Clear golden amber body with a small white head. Very grassy hop aroma. Grassy and citrus hop flavor with light honey. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
