Very nice woody brettanomyces funky nose, with notes of pumpkin spice, numeg and tart fruit. Flavor has some heavy cinnamon and allspice, juniper berries, and tart cherries, especially in the finish. Dry oak and some spicy sugared bread. Very very good. A hybrid sour ale and pumpkin/spice beer. Very interesting creation. jimbowood (979), Athens, Georgia, USA

Pumpkin & tart fruit and spice aroma and taste. Lemon zest, pumpkin, some mixed spice and bitter notes. Absolutely unique and funky w/barrel flavors, red wine...beer for the adventurous. I hear it’s based on a Port Brewing Lost Abbey culture. Like the crazy fun stuff from Fantome, Jolly Pumpkin and Russian River. padrefan98 (788), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA

Flavors were not nearly as tart as I had expected. Maybe when it has had a chance to age. Still very good. Spice and earthy too. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Clear dull pink, thin head. Funky, tart, lactic and slightly meaty aroma. Very lambic like. Lean and tart upfront followed by tangy cherry, then pumpkin pie and finishing dry and squeaky clean. Nicely layered flavor experience that flows divinely. Well balanced sourness. I wish I had some more to lay down. Really exceptional ale. hapjydeuce (773), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Updated: Mar 6, 2008Bottled, pours a nice clean deep copper brown color and minimal head. Nothing wrong with the aroma, just pretty weak. Slight hints of sweet red wine, cinnamon spice, caramel and sour brett yeast. Flavor is a bit more impressive, sweet candy sugar notes with the said pumpkin and lots of red wine. It has a bit of sour tang from the wild yeast (brettanomyces I’m guessing), and a very nutty finish, with notes of biscuit as well. Not bad.
