Dec 30, 2007 Dark amber color with a white head that retains pretty well. The nose is pretty nice with some oak notes and perhaps a bit of pepper. Definitely some pumpkin spice and maybe a touch of dark fruit. Sourness also plays a role in the aroma, but is almost a secondary thought with some of the other aromas present. Taste is nice and sour, some cherry and there is still some pumpkin presence as well. It seems as though I get a bit of oak as well, but I don’t know that I get any red wine notes. Higher carbonation with a lighter body to it. Nice beer here, I could handle drinking a fair amount of this.

Dec 30, 2007 22 oz. bottle via trade with wetherel - Pours a hazy brown color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is tart cherries and spice. Flavor is light vinous, tart cherries, faint oak, esters, and spice. I find this beer quite palatable. Not too tart. Medium body. As my very limited Sour beer tastings go, this is pretty good. Dec 29, 2007 Beer was delicious. Nice slight sourness to both the nose and palate. Could definitely taste the spice mixed w/cherry and vanilla undertones. Overall, a great beer.

Dec 28, 2007 Bottle thanks to Dirty_martini: Pours a deep copper color with some floaties, and a nice tan head. Aroma, bretty, some funk and spices, caramel malts. Flavor, sour, some tartness, spices, sweet fruity finish. Really nice beer.

Dec 24, 2007 Draft at the Carlsbad PP with golubj. Reddish brown in color. I found that the taste was not dominated by the sourness, unlike some of the style. Rather, the sourness was just one of the many flavor components of this rather complex beer. However, it may not be my cup of tea.

Dec 23, 2007 Updated: Dec 24, 2007Draft at Carlsbad Pizza Port. Reddish-brown pour. Aroma of fruit and mild sourness. Flavor is grainy malt, slightly sour, possibly cherry skins. Alexanderj thought it had good sourness and came in at about a 3.5.

Dec 23, 2007 Medium copper body. The aroma is heavily spiced with pumpkin and nutmeg. There is also a sour cherry note with cellar and a little bit of blue cheese. The taste has some light notes of sour cherries with some light iced tea. There is a light note of bread crust and a little bit of vineous character. Boring and light.

Dec 20, 2007 From dirty_martini, thanks Larry. Pours a dark copper color with reddish/orange tints, has a medium clarity and a small head. Aroma is a present woody brett funk. Surprisingly, I do not get a lot of spices, for me its just represented as a strong oak/wood character. Ok, maybe nutmeg but its hard to separate the wood and the spices in presence of the sour. The yeasty part adds a slightly more complex sourness with hints of cherry juice. Taste starts off just regular slightly malty amber and then at the end the sourness kicks. Comes out as a nicely malty amber with a long lingering sourness. I like it, a very nice sessionable sour beer.
