Commercial Description:
6.6% Belgian Brown Ale aged 3 months in Calloway Vineyard’s red wine oak barrels with cinnamon, nutmeg (fresh, hand-ground) and Pumpkin. Some special wild yeast gives it a cherry pie tart flavor and the spices are gracefully subtle. The red wine helps with some tang, too.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with notes of brettanomyces, lacto, wood, and citrus fruits as well as lighter notes of hops. The flavor is sweet combined with an acidity and with notes of malt and lemon as well as lighter notes of wood, leading to a tart fruity finish. The acidity burns lightly on the palate.

clear dark amber, fine off white head, bits of lace, sweet caramel and cinamon aroma with nice pumpkin, lots of cinamon flavor, light malt adds a base for the spicy character, a sharpness like ginger or mint, pumpkin adds an odd character, lingering tartness in the finish,

hazy dark amber, sweet winey character in the aroma in addition to the pumpkin and spices, sweet caramel malt flavor meets a woody cherry pit tartness, winey sweetness, pumpkin and spices take a back seat to the wine and wood, cinamon comes out as it warms,

sweet wine and pumpkin flavor makes strange bedfellows but works pretty well,

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Muddy amber color; small head. The aroma is light, mixing some fruits, vegetables; but also a very light and nice sourness, Bretts. Dry mouthfeel, citrus fruits sourness, light yeasty caramel flavor the final is medium sour. It can be a fake lambic, but quite confused and not convincing.

Hazy dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma had lacto, toasted malt, caramel and sour berries. Flavour had loads of lacto, sour berries, roasted malt and wood. Finished sour. Not bad.
