Commercial Description:
Our annual holiday ale from Alpine Beer Company. A Bavarian Dunkelweizen was brewed as the base beer because of the flavor compliments it has with pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. We’ve used premium German malts and hops in keeping with style authenticity. Share this hauntingly delicious brew with a friend because two heads are better than one.

Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Deep, dark brown color, thin moderate khaki head. Very roasty, hazelnut, very light pumpkin, light cocoa aromas. Taste is more mild and simple, general sweetness, roast again, nice finish. Could use more pumpkin, but still a nice balance of sweet and roast.

Dark brown pour. Opaque. A nice thin light tan head. Funky unpleasant aroma. Wet leaves with rotten pumpkin. Sugary spice notes. Burnt caramel and roast flavor and lots of cream. Dry and watery. Something is definitely off here. This smells awful taste is not good either.

Darker muddy brown with a thin tan head. Pumpkin was softer and subtle, sitting back and letting more of the base beer come through. The base beer gave a soft wheat flavor. Banana esters pair with the pumpkin and spices in the nose. Body was on the watery side, not as crisp as a good german dunkelweizen.

Thanks to Josh for sharing this one. Pours a deep brown with amber notes and a medium bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, pumpkin pie spices and clove. Flavor of clove, toasted malt and pumpkin pie spices.

Appearance of a brown ale, with light tan head. Flavors of bread, roasty malt, clove, pumpkin, cinnamon, and hints of fruit. Pretty good pumpkin ale. Easy to drink, but a little bit to thin.

Poured a murky brown color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of clove, nutmeg, banana, pumpkin, nuts, and a bit of roasted malts. Taste of caramel malts, some roast, cocoa, citrus fruits, smoke, and nutmeg.

22 oz. bottle from Bev4Less in Santee. Very dark pour with decent tan head. Aromas of spice and pumpkin pie and cinnamon. Flavors were very roasted malts. More nutmeg and allspice. Some alcohol in the finish. Almost perfect for a nice cold night. When is it going to get cold in San Diego anyway? Very very good.

22oz bottle, courtesy of WeeHeavySD. Thanks, Jon! Pours a dark cola color; light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Pleasant, generous aroma of nutmeg, pumpkin spicing, cocoa and chocolate; very solid and softly spiced nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lively carbonation and citrus acidity; cocoa, bitter chocolate (softly presented), and bready malts at the core; nicely spiced and plenty of cocoa. A tasty, generous pumpkin beer; I’m glad they’re taking this is different directions each year. Lengthy finish of cocoa, bitter chocolate, and dry, bready malts; toasty.
