Commercial Description:
Fresh organic orange zest and cracked coriander complement the orange blossom honey used in this ale. Like a mountain breeze through the citrus trees. 1.060 OG 6 IBU 6.5% ABV.

Pour is hazy orange. Nose is surprisingly yeasty, and citrusy. Taste is watery, very spicy, kick of ginger, orange zest, thin.

On tap at Toronado SD. Might have enjoyed this one more if it wasn’t side-by-side with a couple of AMAZING Alpine brews. Looks fine, like a light IPA or something. Nose is kinda OK. Taste isn’t bad. Sweet, like a bit sugary and lightly fruity. Kinda just not much to it. I can’t say anything that was specifically bad about it, it was just kinda there. Eh.

bottle pours clear, orange/gold thin white head. Aroma had hints of hops, honey floral with orange blossom and in this case mandarin. Taste, light and refreshing, light bitter finish with subtle addition of honey for the sweetness and some coriander and orange. Overall finish remains sweet/honey. I would say not as fruity and good as Apricot Nectar on tap at the brewery.

The beer was easy to enjoy with a really big honey finish. Suprised at how much honey I got from the beer, and how little "orange" I got. The beer pours out a clear golden orange color with a tiny egg-shell white head. Sweet aroma, very floral with a light apple-juice/honey nose. Where’s the oranges in this Mandarin Nectar beer? Flavor is more honey, light corriander, some pears with a floral bitterness. Again, no oranges in this. Lots of honey though, which was enjoyable. A pint of this from the 22oz bottle was enough.

On tap@Pizza Port Carlsbad: Golden amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma is lightly sweet and flowery. Flavor starts honey sweet followed by orange and a soft bitter citrus finish. Medium body is smooth with moderate carbonation.

22oz bottle: Pours to a clear, light amber colored body with a small, quickly fading white head. The aroma shows pale malt, light honey coated cereal, a hint of orange blossom (though smells more like orange than the jasmine-like flavor of the blossom), and a mild orange zest scent. Taste is clean & crisp on the palate, showing initially some very pleasantly light orange flavor, almost flowery, mild honey, mild pale malt, and finishes with some mild orange zest and very light earthy hops. The body is dry, light, and crisp, with lively carbonation. While the flavor isn’t intense, I think this beer is exactly what it is intended to be - an approachable, quenching, light beer with hints of fruit. If the orange were too intense it would be unpleasant to drink. As it is, each sip leaves you wanting more. Nice.
