| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 19, 2005 This is probably the best Irish Ale Ive had to date. A dark reddish brown appearance with a moderate head. The flavor was rather complex with some bitterness present. I tasted cherries, nutmeg, and grapefruit. From the looks of it, I enjoyed this more than most people. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2005 My nose scents a combination of items making the aroma such related things as the flower of a rose, butterscotch, honey and malt. The flavor was also interesting being a nature of caramel and other sweet malts. The malt here had somewhat of a chocolate aftertaste and the hops gave a hinder to bitterness across the tongue. Also gave an impression of red licorice during the dry finish. Was a lovely amber red and had a minimum amount of head occurance. I’m not a fan of Irish ales, but Alpine Beer Co.made me relish their version.
