| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2007 A good go-to beer with some food. Much better on draft - super malty with a touch of hops to back it up. Excellent beer, a must try...nothing too spectacular - but still a great red!!! GreatLibations (1454), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Pours a deep, dark cherry wood color w/ medium sized, semi creamy froth and some spattering. Head retention is good and finally rests revealing a full canopy and a thick, sticky ring. Aroma is very malty w/ sweet biscuits and cocoa. Medium nectar w/ creamy residual effers. Big mildly sweet malts w/ a defined roast component. Sweet biscuits, cocoa, brown cakebread, leather, coffee bean, citrus rind. The finish is bittered mildly. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 9, 2007 22oz bottle poured a clear light brownish red color with almost no head at all. The aroma was nutty caramel malts and some yeast esters. Taste was all malt with a big nutty flavor to it. No real hop bitterness or flavor at all and a small amount of alcohol warmth in the finish. Not a bad beer just not my style at all. GaltScat (195), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Nice dark red on pour with a large, off-white head that diminished quickly. Although delicious, aroma and flavor were modest. Aroma and flavor were similar with malt, caramel, hops, cherries, and carbonation. Very well balanced, the aroma and flavor did not grab me and announce themselves. This Irish Ale would make for a great daily drinking beer if it were available in my area. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2007 22 oz bomber purchase Oct. ’06 in Alpine consumed 02/05/07. Poured out clear deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma has sweet malty caramel and lightly roasted malts along with a light smattering of hops. The flavor is much like the aroma with sweet caramelized malts, roasted malts and light hints of vague hoppiness. It ends with less sweet roasted malts. Nice malty brew.
