Commercial Description:
A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Bottle courtesy of BOLTZ7555. Pours a clear amber with 2 finger beige head and great lacing. Nose is floral hops, caramel malts and some Douglas fir. Taste is toffee, pink grapefruit , ripe orange and pine. Medium, creamy mouth feel. This is a nicely balanced IPA with enough pop to be considered an IIPA. I bet this is killer on tap. Great beer – thanks Jason!

Clear, misty gold. A raft of thin and clingy white. Soft aroma of yerba, artichoke heart, wheat grass, citrus rind. Dank. Rain on the dirty meadow. Subdued tempering sweetness of candied almond, honey, kraut. Lightly mineral and brittle bodied, somewhat too-clean impression, but nice.

Sweet grassy flavor. Crisp leafiness that betrays a touch of crystal malt too readily. Reminiscent of a calming cannabis waft at times, while for the most part the cotton candy and caramelized almond sweetness has overgrown those somewhat calm hop flavors. Pear skins, peach skins, citrus zest. Really reminiscent of a slightly past-prime two hearted with a little extra weight.

Fairly chewy medium body gleans a syrupy texture given its seemingly withering reaction to age. Lingering, diluted pineapple juice and faint mint in the finish, reclining into a bitter, tough doughiness in the distant smack. Freshness is sometimes magical, and with that it might have been, though still it retains its composure and pristine drinkability. Thanks Steve

Beer pours orange color with nice head and lacing. The aroma isn’t strong but is citrus dominated. The flavor of this one is thick citrus. When I say citrus, I mean it tastes like you are drinking the left over pulp from an orange/grapefruit juice factory. A surprising level of bitterness given how sweet and thick it is. Mouthfeel, apart from pulpy, also was quite carbonated. A good beer, but not in the league of the elites.

Amber colored. Aroma is rich citric and grapefruit hops. Medium bodied to full body, moderate to high bitterness, rich hop flavor. Enjoyable, a really big IPA.

22oz bottle. Clear amber-orange colored body with a sticky head that sustains decently and leaves some streaky lace. The aroma is pretty forceful, with lots of grapefruit, orange, pine, and sweet mango. the flavor is much more hop flavor than bitterness, which caught me off guard at first. Then I remembered back to when I had exponential hoppiness, which was likewise flavorful and not too bitter; seems to be their style, and I like it. This is pretty ridiculously drinkable, but at the same time, the flavor seems a little light and muted. I’m getting a good deal of oily and resiny hops in the mouth, and just a kiss of honey sweet malt carrying it. Not really light bodied, but the oily feel that the ridiculous amount of hopping brings makes it slide quite slickly through the mouth. Alcohol is barely detectable; hardly feels like 8%. The finish is like hop flowers lingering lightly over your tongue. For a beer that is pretty much simply liquid hop flavor, I can’t see it getting much better than this, but is it so much to ask for a little malt?

Sampled @ O’Brien’s San Diego. So this one blew my mind!!! Truly one of the best IPA’s out there!!! Fiery smoke-filled brew like a lit-up hillside. Marshmellow head that sticks to the sides of the glass. Hophead’s dream...grapefruit, orange, lemon zest accompany pine resin. Caramel, toffee, and a touch of honey make this one sing. Oily, not syrupy...give me more!!!
