Commercial Description:
A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Bottle. Huge hop nose...resin, pine, citrus...typical flavors. Taste is the same, with some great grapefruit flavors...ripe and ready. I feel the flavor lacks just a bit of the nose....but still a great example of a West Coast IPA.

22oz bottle from Secret Santa. Aroma: Hop aroma practically leaps from the glass. Tons of pine, grapefruit, orange, and resinous aromas. Some toasty malt and light caramel aromas in the background. A faint herbal note comes through as it warms. Appearance: Deep golden in color and slightly hazed. Off-white head was full and frothy with great retention. Great lacing. Flavor: Juicy grapefruit comes through the strongest throughout, with pine just trailing after. Resin, grass, and a light minty note as well. Bready, toasty malt with a good caramel note. Medium-high bitterness leads into an unsatisfying wet finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warmth in back of mouth. Overall: Another ’if only the flavor matched the aroma’ beer. Smells great, but the hop punch is offset by the wet finish.

Bottle. Thanks to my AZ connection cbkschubert for the bottle, nice choice. Pours a golden amber body with nice head. Aroma is a pleasant citrus hops, sweet malt. Taste has a sugary ceral like quality, nice malty flavor and loads of hops in it. At 8%, I couldn’t tell and it tastes quite sessionable. Well done.

22 oz. Bottle. The pour is a clear orange with a white head and lacing. Nice pine cone nose with some malt. Very piny and citrus in the flavor with a nice light malt background. Not overly bitter but still has a nice lingering bitterness in the finish. I can thank my friend Doug for this one!

Thanks MikeTD. Orange pour with small white head. Citrus hop aroma. Orange and light grapefruit hops. Slight caramel background. Dry-hopped like crazy with loads of citrus flavor and aroma. Hops and nothing else with tons of flavor and little bitterness, great beer.

22 oz. Bomber from South Bay Drugs Pharmacy via mail order. Pour is slightly hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit hops. Taste is the pine and citrus - grapefruit hops, with some malt in there as well. The finish is clean, crisp, and refreshing.

Poured copper with off white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Flavor started strong with hops and finished with a smooth sweet malt background. Citrus hints are present. Refreshing.

22oz bottle?, courtesy of some fine soul @ BCTC 2007. Pours a clear, dark yellow-orange color; off-white head with patchy lacing. Dense, resiny citrus and orange hop aroma; some tea-like malts. Medium-to-full, chewy mouthfeel: dense, resiny citrus with a pleasant tea-like malt character; pleasant hop presence. Medium, dry citrus finish.
