Commercial Description:
A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Bottle from fordest, shared at BCTC. Color is orange gold. Small head. Aroma is strong piney grapefruits and thats all really. Taste is less piney grapefruit or maybe I can say more grapefruit-y pine (meaning the citrus aspects are a bit stronger). Taste has a good medium hoppy bitterness to it. A very nice hop beer but whilst sitting and trying all the other stuff at BCTC it just seemed so plain and uninteresting in comparison.

Draft in San Diego. Always one of my favorites. San Diego IPA’s are BRIGHT, no muted aromas or flavors. This beer is a perfect example. Great Hop aroma, balanced bitterness with the minimal malt backbone. Bright clarity for an unfiltered ale. Danger, very drinkable. A Pulled Pork Sandwich is the call with this one!

Bottle from South Bay Drugs & Liquor. Big hoppy all around, grassy nose... very drinkable and refreshing, but kind of same-y. A bit of lemon in the taste. Almost no malt balance -- good. Nice beer.

Poured a deep burnt orange color with a respectable white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, with some sweet sugar and bitter pine. Wow, it’s as if every single citrus fruit is encompassed in this aroma. Orange, pineapple, grapefruit...they’re all there, fresh and strong. Tastes of light bread, caramel, with plenty of grapefruit flavor. Flavor is pretty normal, but the finish is incredibly fruity, like the aroma. Bitter oranges, flowers, pine. Doesn’t lay on the throat. Very flavorful and has one of the best hop profiles I’ve ever experienced in an IPA. Excellent!

(Bottle) Pours a slightly hazy orange body with a moderate white head. Lively, fruity aroma of orange, pineapple, peach, and pear. Flavor of hops and caramel with a fruity, bitter finish.

Bomber from WeeHeavySD. Slightly hazy amber/orange with a medium head. Good retention. Aroma of grapefruit and pine and not much malt, the way I like it. Biting hops flavor. Malt is present, but just enough to keep the bitter from getting out of hand. Grapefruit, floral, pine, grassy and several other hop adjectives. Complex, if only on the hop character. Bitter Finish. Alcohol well covered. Wow.

Bomber, with thanks to WeeHeavySD, pours a clear golden with a thick frothy tan head, great lacing. Strong aroma of grapefruit, floral and pine. Flavor is a good hops bite, and very well balanced against a solid malt backbone. Palate is medium-full, with average carbonation, and a nice drifting finish. Somewhat reminiscent of the AleSmith IPA, and right up there with it; another one that seems to blur the line between IPA and IIPA a bit. Good stuff!
