| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2007 Poured a deep burnt orange color with a respectable white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, with some sweet sugar and bitter pine. Wow, it’s as if every single citrus fruit is encompassed in this aroma. Orange, pineapple, grapefruit...they’re all there, fresh and strong. Tastes of light bread, caramel, with plenty of grapefruit flavor. Flavor is pretty normal, but the finish is incredibly fruity, like the aroma. Bitter oranges, flowers, pine. Doesn’t lay on the throat. Very flavorful and has one of the best hop profiles I’ve ever experienced in an IPA. Excellent! bu11zeye (5715), Frisco, Texas, USA

Lively, fruity aroma of orange, pineapple, peach, and pear. Flavor of hops and caramel with a fruity, bitter finish. MrBendo (1052), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Bomber from WeeHeavySD. Slightly hazy amber/orange with a medium head. Good retention. Aroma of grapefruit and pine and not much malt, the way I like it. Biting hops flavor. Malt is present, but just enough to keep the bitter from getting out of hand. Grapefruit, floral, pine, grassy and several other hop adjectives. Complex, if only on the hop character. Bitter Finish. Alcohol well covered. Wow. mreusch (748), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Bomber, with thanks to WeeHeavySD, pours a clear golden with a thick frothy tan head, great lacing. Strong aroma of grapefruit, floral and pine. Flavor is a good hops bite, and very well balanced against a solid malt backbone. Palate is medium-full, with average carbonation, and a nice drifting finish. Somewhat reminiscent of the AleSmith IPA, and right up there with it; another one that seems to blur the line between IPA and IIPA a bit. Good stuff! riversideAK (2808), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2007 Intense citrus, perfume, and pine aroma. Lots of hops. Pours golden orange with small head. Flavor is same citrus, perfume, and pine. Not alot of malt backbone. Mostly hops. Watery for style. Dry, resiny. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Poured a light copper color with a pretty big white head. Aroma was of grapefruit and tropical fruits. Reminded me of hopslam in the aroma a little bit. There wasnt any alcohol really present at all in this. A solid body and a really flavorful citrus fruit background to this. This is a really good beer. I could drink this stuff all day. A great beer. TheEpeeist (1498), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 2, 2007 22 oz bottle. Clear gold with a silky white head. Random lace spots. Tangerine and grapefruit, pine needles and caramel. Pineapple with warming. Bitterness is nicely controlled. Lemon-lime sorbet, toffee, melon and sourdough. At first i thought a little thin but depth of flavor provides substance. Light carb, some resin with sticky lips. Mouthfeel is soft. Exceptionally smooth and drinkable but still unique. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2007 Draft @ O’Brien’s. Found a lighter orange in the glass with an off-white head. The aroma puts out a nice IPA citrus backed with pine that makes it almost floral. Big grapefruit and pine punch in the flavor with a caramel background. Medium body and a crisp, dry texture. Moderate bitterness throughout. It’s hard to find a bad IPA in SO CAL.
