Commercial Description:
A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Alpine’s IPA’s are some of the best, and this is no different. Orange-gold pour with very little head. Thick aroma of citrus and piney hops and a bit of malt. The taste is epic. The grapefruit hops with the Cascade hops are perfectly balanced to give that sweet and bitter bite. The malt back evens everything out, making this a very smooth beer. I thought this was an Imperial. As an IPA, this is one of the strongest.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of DarkElf. Pours a sparkling orange-gold with an average size lasting foamy white head. Big lovely aroma of juicy citrus hops along with fruit (pineapple sticks out), some pine and enough malt to balance things out. The flavour does not dissapoint: Lots of citrus hops and fruit very well balanced with sweet malt -- so delicious! This is 8% alcohol? Hard to believe. Medium bodied. This is so damn easy to drink and would make a wonderful session IPA. Fantastic!

Bottle 650ml). Shared with blankboy, his bottle, via trade with DarkElf. Poured clear deep gold with many tiny champagne bubbles and a solid tight foamy off-white head. Wonderful balance of pleasant sweet roast malt backbone and hops, hops hops - rich hops, juicy citrus (and pineapple) and solid but not aggressive resiny evergreen hops - incredibly appealing, if straightforward. Taste follows right on, bitter citrus/resiny hops but juicy and fresh, and enough sweet malt to keep it in check, has a medium-long finish that’s on the grapefruity side, but not out of control - mouthfeel is astringent, soft, somewhat lively, with a solid body and straightforward west coast IPA aftertaste and finish - a solid, incredibly drinkable IPA and I hate ALL of you who can keep this in your refrigerators to drink when the whim hits. Hate you guys ...

Nice looking warm-orange coloured beer with creamy off white head. Aroma is suptile and complex. The hoppiness is attractive, very much present but not overpowering. It leaves place for other interesting aromas such as fine malts, nuts, dried oak leaf and forrest soil (sous bois). The taste is fine and IMO well balanced. The malts gives it a mild round caracter with a nutty crunsh. There is also a fait hint of peach pit and a refreshing mint herby and fine citrussy touch of hops. I did like this one, but it is not crisp or hoppy enough to call this one an IPA.

Gold colour to orange; small, just off-white head. Very hoppy nose, dry, but with a marked ureum content. Faint flowery, citrus. Quite dry taste, some malt presence makes itself felt, but it does not really benefit the balance. The ureum is gone in the taste, but the nose keeps interfering. A bit agressive coloured malt - burning MF. Certain, not unwelcome, spritzy MF. Maybe this beer has been handicapped by the last beer tasted, a world-class IPA, but still - this one has a balance problem, IMO.

22 oz bottle thanks to fordest! Pours golden color with nice head that stick to the edge of the glass all along the tasting. Pine and grapefruit nose. Flavors lean towards hops as well but with some sweetness that brings an overall balance. -Dangerously drinkable looking at the alcool content and perhaps the hopping rate.

Like chewing on hop buds and chasing it with a decent IPA. It’s hard to capture the absolute green and piney flavor of true fresh hops in a beer but this does it. INSANE amount of hop flavor and aroma, but not too much bitterness to be off-putting. Well done, because I don’t often enjoy really hoppy beers.

sampled on tap @ the liars club in San DIego next to the exponential hopiness. This one pours a little darker w/ a thick white well laced head. Fresh grass hop aroma w/ a nice carmel malt balance, smells very fresh & crisp. Palate is oily well coated & lightly creamy. More than the exponential and it loses the tropical flavor. A very dry grassy/piney flavor w/ a carmel and citrus finish. A very good IPA but not near the exponential.
