Big amarillo peachy mango in the nose. Lots of the same hops flavor with a good whack of diacetyl. No real maltiness. Med. bodied. Wet heavy bitterness. Nothing memorable heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2005 The body is a bright gold. The aroma was amazing. Fresh and flowery with some bread. The taste had dirt, flowers and grapefruit. This was very well balanced. Nice. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2005 Orange, with a decent white head. Smells like floral hops. Tastes like fresh hops. Look, I’m runnig out of way to say it - This is a really tasty, hoppy West Coast brew. It promises hops, it delivers hops - What more could you ask for? | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2005 The aroma is a storng dosage of hops added with a grapefruit and floral plant like smell. Reminded me a bit of some dryed out chronic. Had a rough big bubbled head on top with a murky gold hue that contains a lot of sediment. I would describe the flavor as being a organic and "pure" combination of hops used. No sign of the grapefruit or citrus in the flavor that was mentioned being in the aroma, but i did also want to add it a few more comments such as it having a tiny metallic and dry aftertaste. I give this a thumbs up for being a well put together IPA. jtw (944), farmington, Michigan, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 3, 2005 Stone and AleSmtih have a better distribution system in place in the SD area, but this is the beer that will put the SD micro community on the map once word gets out. Hopheads are going crazy in this town over this charming little brew. Mad hops, naturally, in the nose, the downtake, the aftertaste, the burping later. This one is all about the hops, and it is ballsy! Truth be told, the groundswell that Pure Hoppiness is gathering (and it’s even ridiculously hoppier cousin, Exponential Hoppiness), is challenging other local brewers to make a hoppier beer. To this date, even after PizzaPort has come out with a new double IPA every other week (Hop15, Hop Sack, Wipeout, etc.), none have yet to match this demonically hoppy brew. If you are passing through the SD area, be sure to pick up one of these, whether you are a hophead or not. If not a hophead, you will come away converted. If already a hophead, you will ask for directions to the brewery and then camp out at their doorstep. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
