Commercial Description:
A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Bomber, courtesy a random act of kindness by a coworker. Thanks, James! Pours clear light orange with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, toffee and resin. Medium-light body and light carbonation. Lightly sweet taste of grapefruit and resin with a softly bitter finish.

This pours a light orange/amber color with a big white head. Aroma was grapefruit, some pine and some slight sweetness as well. Flavor was much more balanaced than expected. Very sweet fromt he massive amount of malt, but at the same time extreme hops flavors meld in. Not extremely bitter, just balanced to not to too sweet for an IPA, but not be a hop bomb either. Hides the alcohol well when cold, but isnt too great once it warms.

Bottle thanks to Smokepot23!
Hazy transparent bronze, large white head. Spicy green nose, loads of citrus (orange) and grass. Hop barrage. Flavor is sweeter, malt and caramel emerging near the finish to give some balance to the overriding grass and citrus. A little sticky on the palate. somewhat salty, but nicely carbonated to balance out the hop overkill. Drink this one cold: it descends to the basic IIPA formula with warmth, unlike the best examples.

Sampler at the brewery. Pours golden, thin white head. Aroma has hoppy written all over it. Taste, floral hops, some cheese like mold and spices, keeps a light and balanced caramel tones, finish was on the more bitter side. Nelson proved to be a tad better to my taste buds, kept more sweetness even though it was loaded with hops.

Gold coloured body with a thin white head. Strong potent hoppiness in the nose all with a nice malty scent too. Medium-bodied; Potent hops in the taste with a great flavour and a strong kick! Aftertaste bitter, but very nice to try! The hops are really crazy, strong as hell! Overall, a damn good beer - a great IPA, bordering on the line between Imperial and non. I sampled this beer on draught at the Liar’s Club in San Diego, California on 23-September-2006.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a big fluffy white head and lacing. Crisp aroma, of hops, pine, and herbs. Crisp and bitter taste, of pine hops, grass, and flowers. Lingering bitterness. Very tasty and drinkable.

On tap at O’brians, San Diego. Clear and golden coloured with a small head. Both malty and hoppy in a nice balanced way. Bitter finish.

On tap at Boonville Beer Fest. An excellent DIPA. Clear orangish amber color with a nice white head. Aroma of citrusy, piney hops and malty sweetness. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, very well balanced with a sharp citrusy hop bite and light fruit notes. Fairly full mouthfeel for the style and some oils noticeable.
