Commercial Description:
A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

A- Pours a clear yellow/orange hue, head is 3-fingers’ of white, smooth, cream that dissipates down to a thin layer, super sticky lacing all over the glass S- Nose is a major hop wallop on the olfactories, mostly pine with a hint of orange/citrus, alcohol presence is stiff, so delicious T- No surprise that the taste is dominated by big, bold pine hops backed by more subtle citrus, some sweet malts balance out the bitter hops midway through leading to a mildly bitter finish with alcohol warming, what a great example of a well-balanced DIPA that isn’t overwhelming M- Medium/full-bodied beer, oily and resinous texture coats the mouth, lively level of carbonation D- This is a heavy-hitting hoppy DIPA that packs a punch in a good way, definitely not for those faint of hops, the alcohol is warming and would be an issue for drinking large quantities, a standout DIPA even for us West Coasters

22. Wow, this is a very, very good beer. I confess that I have been looking forward to a beer for a while after a long week (and an especially long day) at work, but, man, you can’t fool anybody about how good this one is. It’s grand. Pours a murky bright orange with a thick, fairly dense off-white head that falls away to film, leaving plenty of generous lacing. Huge tangy sharp grapefruit, mango, and apricot nose. Just delicious. Creamy medium body. Some hop oil shows in the mouthfeel, but mostly it’s just a nice creamy grainy ale body with big piney grapefruit pithy notes on the mid-palate. Turns slightly into resin as it nears the finish, but by and large fruit predominates throughout. Just a delicious, refreshing beer that hides the 8% fairly well (except from your balance). I wish I had ordered a whole case just of this. Awesome, awesome beer.

22 oz bottle after the Steelers pummeled the Chargers. This bottle was much better than the game. Pull the pin and toss this hop-bomb. Super sharp hoppy goodness on the nose. Grear amber color with strong white head. Taste is wonderfully sharp hops and pine. Not any sweet fruitiness. Some grapefruit maybe, and pineapple. The sharpness, not the syrup/fruit sweetness. Really good if you like the clear sharpness of hops.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a slightly hazed gold body and a small off-white with compact rings of lacing from every sip. Aroma is of very floral and perfumey hops and a touch of melon. Taste is relatively strong on the malt with a nice hoppy component that finishes a bit sweet. Syrupy with light bubbles. Good and easy drinking but not flashy, DIPA, which is what it is...
