Commercial Description:
Since “Willy” is so versatile and can be flavored with fruits and essences, we add a touch of vanilla extract to compliment the sweet nuttiness. Also good mixed with Captain Stout, a blend we call “The Captain and Vanil.”

From growler. A hazy golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has strong notes of wheat combined with notes of vanilla. The flavor has strong notes of wheat and medium notes of barley malt, and vanilla, leading to a dry wheaty finish where the vanilla note lingers.

From growler. Pours clear and yellow with a lacing white head. Aroma is mild vanilla. Flavour is quite dense on the vanilla and not much more. Finish is mild wheaty flavoured and smooth yet again also dense vanilla.

Draft... RBSG’08... Mostly clear yellow ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Mild, grainy, vanilla aroma. Light-bodied with lively carbonation. Refreshing, lightly grainy, vanilla flavor. Crisp, vanilla finish. Very reminiscent of Anderson Valley Summer Solstice Cerveza Crema.

Tap at brewery in Alpine, CA: Clear yellow, citrusy malty nose along with a rustic sweet flavor and a malty body. Similar to Willy but lighter and creamier with a very light touch of vanilla.

RBSG ’08: Growler pour. Poured a clear yellow with a large white head. The aroma was simple with vanilla and caramel. Big vanilla flavor. Light malt. Light body.

A nice, light vanilla flavored ale from a great brewery. Not too sweet and kind of refreshing.
