Draft at Naked City. Pours a crystal clear dark amber with bright garnet overtones and a thing disc of tan cream on top that doesn’t really hang around for very long. Not much lace. Nice caramel apple nose--doesn’t smell like acetaldehyde, smells like a nice red apple type of yeast and some doughy malts. Creamyish lightish body--a little thick, but definitely not anything to make an ice cream float with or anything. That caramel apple thing comes back for the mid-palate, not much carb, and a sweet finish. Solid, drinkable, no real flaws. A little on the polite side, a little on the sweet side, but a nice beer.

On tap at Pike Market Pours out a amber topped with a small head. Aroma of sweet malts and a lttle malt. Tast more of the sweetness maybe some caramel and a nice malt. A touch of bitterness at the end.

A nice light but full bodied take on the marzen. It is a good summer marzen- it has the caramel malt taste associated with marzen but has lightness to it. Overall it is not an authentic marzen but it is an innovative take on it that has many of the same features that the authentic marzen has.

On tap at the Bear Haus in Leavenworth, WA. Poured a nice amber/orange color with an orange head. Aroma was caramel, toffee, some maltiness, a little cloying., Flavor was pretty sweet, kind of flat and a bit boring. Not the best of the style I’ve had.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. Sweetish malty grainy caramel aroma. Sweetish malty grainy and bready caramel flavor. Malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

6/14/08 On draught at the Washington Brewers Festival. Aroma is sweet malt forward with a low rost note. Appearance is clear copper with a medium maintained white head. Flavor is malt forward, munich roasty, with a moderate bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb texture. Overall, easy drinking and refreshing for a full flavored beer.

On tap at WABL Fathers Day BrewFest 2008. Pours clear copper with a lacy, creamy off-white head. Medium body & moderate carbonation. A bit of toffee, fruit and hay in the aroma and taste. Crisp finish.

GCBF sample. Good thick head. Dark amber. Fruity aroma with notes of grass and cookie. Slightly dusty body, rough, grainy and chewy.
