MiP (5014), Flensburg, Germany May 8, 2008 Bottle, 4.9%. Citric aroma. Very cloudy yellow colour, lots of floaties. OK semi-stable white head. Plasticky flavour. Citric and yeasty, too. Seems OK, but the plastic is bad. Jukkabro (2369), Tampere, Finland Oct 24, 2007 Dark yellow colored, strongly hazy appearance. Medium sized yellow head. Strong biting sour-lemony aroma, some weird herbal-anis tone here also. Medium bodied. Flavor is weird with hints of Belgian spice-herbal anis combination, lemon here too. Weird brew, still good one. Some hops in aftertaste. Dezzilu (170), Versailles, France May 25, 2007 Does anyone really know what a Zwickel-keller-landbier is anyway? Tasted like a pale lager to me, kind of like Stella. My recent selection of German beers has really left me in the dumps. I mean, isn’t all German beer supposed to be awesome and ready to pound for 30 days straight (at least in October)? This was bland, pale, and somewhat tastless. Who wants that? It did not down easy so I am sure that no one would be offended, blah, blah, blah. Just don’t expect anyone, except a true German from Altotting, to be impressed. Ho-hum, next. MoritzF (3865), Ruhrpott, Germany Sep 26, 2005 (swing top bottle) Hazy yellow colour with a small, slightly yellow frothy white head. Fruity nose of lemon and grapefruit with hints of wheat bread. Soft sweet flavour, fruity, bread malty and yeasty taste with a short hopbitter finish. pivnizub (3811), Porúří, Germany Jul 24, 2005 Swing-top bottle: Hazy, orangey colour, big fluffy off-white head, lacing; fruity (bananas) yeasty nose, some hints of floral happiness; starts sweetish, mild and fruity; light bodied, light but tart bitter flavour; lively carbonation; very light bitter aftertaste; lacks a fuller body. Pretty good beginning, bland finish.......
