| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2004 Malty nose with flavors of licorice and dried fruit. Hardly a whisp of hops. Sweet, malty flavor with a long, dry hop finish. Nice beer. dortmunder (961), Herdecke, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 22, 2004 Hopyy aroma. Very dry hoppiness dominates, but also some malty and fruity notes, which make this beer quite interesting for me. Nice. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 13, 2004 Appearance: clear, pale yellow color, and a big, fluffy-as-a-cloud head o’ foam.
Aroma: delicate, light, perfumey, and a trifle sweet.
Graceful meeting ’pon the lips and tongue, roundly fills the mouth, softly fading.
Hops are pronounced on the palate, and well-appreciated, providing abundant flavoring and over-adequate satisfaction.
Light body, beautiful finish.
Herbal qualities shine through, sip after sip. A delicious elixir, proundly pretty, and happily drunk.
One of the best lagers ever put to my lips!

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 11, 2004 Vague apple aroma. Hoppy flavor, especially in the aftertaste. Just a bit herbal, but putting hopfig herb (hoppy and herbal) on the neck label is a bit exaggerated for this pleasant, but undistinctive beer. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2004 Very nice bottle design, unique. I like that. Erupts when opened; pours a wonderful hazy ruddy orange. Sweet hoppy aroma, like syrup. Wow, feels very good going down, silky smoothness. Taste is odd, however. bitter, but definate sweetness somewhere in the complex flavor. OVerall this is a decent selection, but strange. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2004 Seemed a lot stronger than 4.9. Excellent in the glass - sparkling golden with pure even white foam. Lots of mineral though lightly tangy, dust and earth, some metal and mud. Well done -- an intersting complex of subdued lighter malt flavors and old herbal hops. Thanks pivo and yogi! jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2003 Slightly hazy golden colour body with a thin white head. Very pleasant aroma of citrus and green apples, German hops and a bit of metal. Light-bodied; Great balance, strong hop showing for the style and a subtle sweet taste. Aftertaste mild and clean. A better beer than I was expecting-try it if you can find it! I bought this 330 mL swing-top bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 14-November-2003. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2003 Starts out malt sweet big time and immediately settles into a really wonderful noble hoppiness - flowery, also some iron and earth, and as someone once said, pencil shavings. I like this. Body is nice and crisp.
