Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Nov 2, 2009 Consumed at the campervan, Landsmeer campsite, Amsterdam, 28-10-09 Pours gold with a white head. This is a reasonable tangy and refreshing lager, but there is the usual cereal and mettalic aromas and flavours, could be a little bitterer for my liking. A6 A5 F6 P3 Ov12 3.2 judasbeer (230), Budapest, Hungary Oct 25, 2009 0,5 l Swing-top bottle from Julius Meinl in Wien. Pale golden color with weak, bubbleish head. Grainy, grassy, slightly herbal aroma. The flavor is also very
unbalanced "table-beer" like with harsh grassy hop character and simple pale malts. Medium bodied with rather
watery texture. Not bad, but nothing exceptional. NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Oct 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear and very pale yellow. Nice white head. Tart hop aroma with a bit of grain. Dry, sweetish cardboard flavour. With metallic and faint hop notes. Sweetish finish. 26-09-09. Enjoyit (1697), Vadum, Denmark Oct 15, 2009 Pale yellow of color with a small white foamy head. An aroma of DMS, butter and no hops. A flavor of malt, bread, hops and bitter notes. sound67 (157), Offenbach, Germany Oct 13, 2009 50cl dark brown bottle, as shown.
Pours a pale, clear gold - big, creamy head with generous lacing.
Faint aroma of malt and hops, no real fruit there. Watery, but not too thin mouth feel, light to medium body.
Taste is of bitter hops, but no real citrus character. No other fruit on the palate either. Medium bitter finish which quickly disappears. Slightly bitterish, not quite natural after taste.
Urig-würzig? (Rustic, tangy?) No, not really. More like bland, medicinal. Not fruity enough for a lager, not malty enough for a Pilsener, not much of anything really. After so much good beer in recent weeks, this one sucks. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 10, 2009 Bottle. It pours a clear, pale golden body under a finger-thick white head. Herbal-like, spiced hoppyness in the aroma, blending nicely with the pale malts. Still not very interesting. Medium body and pleasant carbonation. Pale malts and fruity hops in the flavor, with a little spiced bitterness towards the end. On a second though, maybe it’s a bit over-carbonated. Slightly metallic in the finish, and of course bitter. Some malty sweetness too. There’s not much wrong with this one, but the experience is more about the wrapping than the drinking. 091010 sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Oct 6, 2009 Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is light malt and light grass hop. Flavour is bitter and harsh. Really strange. mcdav2154 (293), Germany Oct 5, 2009 Clear straw colored body with a thick longlasting white head. Smells like any other lager with notes of grass, hops, and a light sweet malt. Great lacing. Taste is expected. Refreshing clean taste. Crisp but a bit watered down. Mild hop palate at the end. Descent.
