Sugar, malt, spice, toasty, bit of dark bread. Flavors of caramel, molasses, toast, and even a hint of fig. Lighter side of medium bodied, balanced finish. Not bad at all... argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2004 Dark amber with some reddish tint, good but fading head. Fruity caramel aroma, an almost sugary sweetness on the molasses at the end of the nose. Tang of sourness too. Flavor is strongly of almost burnt caramel, molasses, and a touch of dark fruit. Just enough hops to provide a hint of bitterness. Nice beer, but over the years I've grown less and less fond of this style. TheBeerGod (3152), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2004 Pours a rich brown with a small tan head. Strong malt and caramel laden aroma.Very pleasant. The taste is also strong chewy malt. More caramel, and perhaps a hint of brown sugar. Very faint hop character. It seems almost non-existent. The finish is sweetened malt and perhaps a hint of fruit. Surprisingly good beer, as I didn't have high expectations for this. DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA

As I and my friend punkeedo partook it was like a German party [Fest] in our mouth with every drink [jeder Schluck]. The flavour is outstanding and the palate intriguingly complicated. I got this beer for right about $4 a bottle - really not that bad considering what you pay for other lesser beers when you go out to trendy places. The commercial description on the bottle is really apt - Every drink a party [Jeder Schluck ein Fest]. Outstanding. Try it. punkeedo (465), San Antonio, Texas, USA

Full bodied and satisfying. Two would probably be a perfect number with Juebel. Very cool bottle--worth keeping for the shelf. Strong, as far as alcohol concentration goes, but it's definitely a treat. Excellent beer...highly recommended...***On a second go-round, this beer was still very stout, but the alcohol kick didn't seem as bad. This beer should be drunk at room temperature. I found it more enjoyable, drinking from the bottle, and I actually think it tastes better that way--who knows? Still a great beer that I would recommend. bluevegie (2196), Perth, Australia

Firstly it came in a nice bottle then the colour of the beer was eye-catching,dark cherry with an off-white small compact head. Aroma was of pleasant caramel. Soft but lasting carbonation, very ripe grapes some nuttiness and maybe a hint of ginger. Braudog (3762), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2004 Red with a candy aroma. Smoky, candied flavor, predominately caramel. Not bitter at all. Went well with my cigar.
