A clear brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and so is the flavor, but the body is somewhat thin.

(Bottle 50 cl) This original version by "Privatbrauerei Franz-Joseph Sailer". Dark brown without much head. Loads of malt in here with an edge of caramel and some balancing bittering hops. A lovely Dunkel. 040201

Amber color, big head. Malty aroma, some wet cereals. Some malt flavor, light caramel, the bitterness appears too late. Reasonable beer, no emotions.

Clear chestnut body topped by big beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, molasses, plum, some spice. Taste is fairly sweet, caramel, herbal, some burnt/roasty, finishing spice, herbal and faintly astringent. Light-medium body with some stickiness.

Malt and caramel both in aroma and flavor. Medium bodied, good lacing. Just a hint of coffee. Slightly bitter aftertaste with a hint of glue. Fairly clean palate. Good enough.
