Sweet nose of alcohol and grain. Some prickly alcohol. Sticky and some caramel malts. Pretty decent. tomer (380), Rishon Le Zion, Israel
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 7, 2009 0.5L bottle, small stable head with big bubbles, perfect crustal clear golden colour. Herbal hoppy aroma with vanila and a scent of mushrooms, flavour one dimensional, sweet with a strong overpowering presence of alcohol with just a touch of biscuity flavour coming through. A contradictory beer and overall quite dissapointing. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 24, 2009 I bought this beer for the massive .52gal bottle that it comes in, basically works as a nice big growler. Didn’t have enough shelf room in the fridge to store this bottle upright so had to keep it on its side... Pours golden with tons of precipitates floating around. This isn’t your usual sediment that slowly sinks to the bottom, no this stuff isn’t going anywhere. Nice sweet malty aroma. A bit of alcohol comes through in the flavor, not bad but I imagine it will begin to get harsh as the bottom of this bottle approaches. turbothy (725), Bonn, Germany
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Bügelflasche. Pours dark golden. Malty aroma. Rather nondescript malty flavour, but rather light-bodied for a seven point fiver. Quack-Duck (3293), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 20, 2009 bottle, found at my local supermarket. Clear golden colour, large and persistent white head. Bitter-sweet aroma. Full-bodied, intensively malty and sweet with bitter-aromatic herbal hops, that give the beer a bitter-sweet character. The finish contains intensive alcoholic flavours. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Chunky appearance (lots of floaties) in a golden beer. There’s a nice sense of malts here with a little wheat, but the alcohol gives the flavor its profile, with a little sweetness helping out. Moderate body, moderate carbonation. I found this rather decent drinking, and reflecting of many maibocks. seanbhudson (54), , California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2009 APPEARANCE:
Pours a hazy golden color with a large off-white head that dissipates quickly except that last bit. Medium amount of lacing.
SMELL:
Orange blossom, malts and a hint of alcohol
TASTE:
Malt and caramel. Finishes with a slight peppery spice.
MOUTHFEEL:
Light to medium body with a slight creamy texture. Light carbonation
DRINKABILITY:
Very easy drinking but I would like a little more hops to give it balance.
