Taste is a vanilla peach with light chocolate with slight slivers of sweetness trailing at the back of the palate. Very dry and flat but great as far as lagers go. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Good looking beer, very pale yellow with a decent white head.
Almost no aroma, did I perceive a bit of hops maybe??
Flavor and palate are thin and watery, little flavor of any kind. Just a refreshing water substitute. KAggie97 (2482), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 3, 2005 Not much like a pale lager, more like a dunkel in my opinion. A dull chocolate subdued by a variety of spices. Not bad. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 18, 2005 Yellow and dulled in color by thousands of small floaters. Protein haze? No head. Vegetable and carob aroma with malt and some maple syrup. Thin and sweet in flavor with some decent maltiness. Watery. It’s hard rating a beer of unknown age from far away. There’s no way this bottle contains lager that was handled the way the brewer would have wished. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 11, 2005 Bottle at Julios Spring Beer Fest 4/02/05. Clear yellow, with very light orange-gold tint in the background, small amount of white head, rapidly dissipating. Aroma, as others have said, does not quite give away the thin, bland flavor on this, and gives notes of floral hops, light grains and a little bit of yeast. Very light bread notes as well. Flavor, though, is thin, watery and very bland. Not offensive, just very watered down and light. White bread, light almond and honey, a bit of paperiness on the end (cardboard), light body, watery texture, lively carbonation. HenrikSoegaard (4430), Randers, Denmark

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 13, 2005 (16 oz flip-top bottle: $3.20 at Liquid Solutions in Tigard, OR) Immediately upon pouring the beer into my pint glass, the nose was promising, and I thought I might be finishing up my 5-beer German pale lager session with a decent beer. Alas, that initial whiff has misled me. This is pretty much in the middle of the beers I’ve tasted in this session, not horrible, but not very good either. The malt is lightly bready and lightly sweet, and the hops barely makes any contribution at any point from start to finish, well maybe just a little late in the finsh. Unfortunately, there is a modest cardboard flavor cutting into the breadiness, and then like a schoolyard bully, getting a little pushy in the finish. Yeah, just not a pleasant flavor overall. Even after several sips, the nose still isn’t that bad, showing some breadiness, but also some slight cardboard. Light to medium body isn’t bad for a pale lager, but the palate is a bit tiring. Hazy and pale yellow in color. The small, whitish head is mostly just larger bubbles during the pour, and so it’s no surprise that the head fades to a thin rim soon thereafter. And so mercifully, this ends my German pale lager tasting session. Things could be worse, it could be an American macro pale lager sesson! Perish the thought! mheile (1), USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Cloudy.with a slightly fruity nose.Hop taste diminishes as maltiness follows through.
