Draught at BLES Bierhappening 2008, Zottegem, Belgium
Hazy, brown body. Lightly brown, creamy head. Aroma of grapes, malts (caramel and a bit burnt) and orange. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Bitterness increases in the finish. Very carbonated. I was expecting a standard beer, but that turned out to be false: somewhat different (in a good way). Very nice.

Re-tasted yesterday @ Blesfestival zottegem. Darkamber brown color, offwhite head. Aroma roasted malts, bit herbs. Medium body. Taste little sourness, roasted malts, spice-herbs, hops, alcoholic touch. Bit dry end.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a very small white head. Aroma of sweet fruits (especially apple), applesauce, cinnamon, light spices, molasses, and sweet malt. Flavor is sweet with coffee cake, candi sugar, dark fruits, molasses, and a slightly spicy finish. Full, heavy palate. This is a nice BSA--very interesting and tasty. 8/4/8/4/15 (3.9/5)

Intens brown coloured beer with small beige foam. Aroma is interesting with a fine note of smoke and malts. Taste malty with hints of honey, cereals and fruits, it ends with a slight sournes and some touches of wood.

Thought this was Gerwaarde Pater. Pours a ruby brown with a little light head. Fresh fruity aroma - red fruits. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is lightly tart, suggesting cherry. It’s oaky. Finishes very pleasant. Quite good.

Tap @ ZBF 2009.
Pours amber with a slight hazy. A small, creamy, beige film head on top. Aroma is lightly tart, caramel, toffee and plums. Good yeast. Medium carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is surprisingly sweet compared to the aroma. Lots of caramel, just a slight tart note of plums and wood. Rather dry finish. Very nice.

Pours copper/amber, with a small head. Aroma is fruit, spices, and a little oak. Flavor is fruit, oak, sugar, and alcohol. Not as sweet as I expected.

Deep brown pour with a thick and very persistent, tight brown head. The nose is lovely… quite vineous with a touch of barrel character, vanilla and a hint of light tartness. The vineousness is quite pronounced as it starts to warm up, with a bit of cognac-like sweetness. A little bit of licorice and black pepper as well. Fairly spicy with a long oaky/tannic finish. It’s kind of unusual but it really strikes up a nice balance of sweet and tart. I could see this pairing very nicely with wintery beef stews.
