| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy reddish brown with a dense, beige head leaving some laces. Rather violent carbonation. Spicy aroma with ginger being very prominent. Very full-bodied with sweetish, roasted malt, brown sugar and dried fruit. Spicy, herbal almost medicinal - like cough syrup. 211006 bierkoning (6100), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2006 Pours an enormous frothy head. The smell of ginger blows into my face while pouring out the contents of the bottle. I can also smell cardemom and brown sugar. Sweet sugary flavor with cardemom and ginger. Pure chocolate, caramel and tropical fruit. Reasonably balanced in spite of the strong spicy character. fiulijn (7500), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Dark brown color; thick creamy head. Aroma of malt, caramel, spices (light cinnamon, nutmeg), delicate. Average structure, quite malty flavor, a lot of sweet caramel, a touch of sweet liquorice, light spices (coriander and nutmeg); nice mix, complex enough. The final is warming and with a respectable bitterness for a Belgian Ale, with good caramel and liquorice touch, but shows a light astringency, sign that maybe the beer is still young.
