Dark brown coloured with even some black touches. Large brown head. Sweet herby and malty aroma with some roasted touches. Full body, some sprankling. Finish is roasted, malty with herby hints. Nice one.

Found at Dickie’s in Bruges, March 2007. One of the most interesting beers I found in Belgium. This is comparable to Pannepot, though not quite that good. A huge spray of beer and foam that required two glasses for serving. The foam fades slowly. Black licorice and malt aroma. A thick, heavy, and sweet beer. Spices are evident, including cardamom. Sweet malt throughout, and a surprising dry finish.

Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Light brown head. Brown cakes (in danish brunkager), cloves, cinnamon, berries and very christmaslike aroma. Continues into the flavour. Loads of christmasspice, sweetness and berries. Flavour a bit more bland than aroma, but still quite dense. Medium bodied. Light dry mouthfeel. Has a fruity and sweet end. Nice one.

A Sim rate (on tap at ZBF): Only gets a six for aroma because it reminds me of the Waase Wolf the first time I drank it... smelling like tempeh in a not-so-good way. Tastes overwhelmingly alcoholic. Very portlike. Couldn’t drink much at once.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with white head and plenty of carbonation. The aroma was spicy. The flavor was tangy and very carbonated which reacted to on the tongue.
