Bottle@Home. Heavily spiced aroma. Dark ruby colour, beige irregular head, fair lace. Sweet, spicy, light lactic, licorice. Flat and a little oily. Bit amateurish, unbalanced and yeasty.

33cl bottle bought at the brewery shop during the pre-Zythos event. Thanks to thewolf, Rene, as I wouldn’t have bought a bottle unless he’d asked for one in a trade. Black as far as I can work out or very dark brown, thin beige head. Mixed dried spices hit the aroma first off. Yes there are some smooth dark fruits in the body and some juiciness. The spice reappears on the finish. Bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. The spice isn’t too dominant and there is room for some good jammy blackcurrant and blackberry in there. Even cranberries. Only a touch of sourness, but it is there on the sides of the tongue and builds in the finish. I don’t normally like spiced beers, but this one has balance and the juicy fruits are really likeable. Yep, a good beer. The sour dryness on the finish stops it getting out of hand. Decent stuff.

Bottle at Alvinne pre-ZBF09. Citric aroma, dark malt notes, some raisin, smells oaked on wine barrels. Very dark clear brown colour, red shine. Small stable tan head. The flavour is mildly roasted, some fruit. Citric fruit notes, dried than the aroma. A little weak in the finish.

Bottle. [thank you, harrisoni]
Pours very dark brown; almost black. Fine creamy, beige head, but is disappears rather quickly. Wonderful spicy aroma behind plums, raisins and roasted malts. There is fine cinnamon, cloves, ginger and some light yeast. Medium carbonation, fine mouthfeel, even though I’d expected it to be fatter and more porter-like. Flavour is lightly sourish to begin with, some light roasted malts. There is fine spiciness, lightly peppery, lots of cinnamon. Light bitterness.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark and hazy brown with a dense light tan head. Mild dry and yeasty, slight spiced aroma. Mild spiced and yeasty flavoured with a light roasted caramel malt base. Mild citric, acidic and vague bitter flavoured into the finish. Nice and easy to go beer.

An Almost black colored beer, with a dark beige head. It is quickly gone. The aroma of dark malts, herbs like cinnamon and some ginger, dark fruits and hop. The taste, in the beginning Sweet fruits, with malt. The flavor is shifting into a little sour. There several herbs in the back. The aftertaste is some sour, with tones of bitterness.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt and rhum in the aroma. Sweet flavor with apple syrup, caramel and coreander. Pear drups. Hints of roast, ginger and licorice. Not bad actually.
