[my 200th Belgian Strong Ale - the first style to reach that number.
Pours hazy amber with a giant, frothy off-white head. Long duration and fair lacing. Powerful aroma. Lots of yeast, esters, apple, lemony hops, vanilla and coriander. High carbonation, rather creamy. Flavour is dominated by alcohol, caramel, plums and raisins. A bit too much alcohol.

May 11, 2008 Great little citrus hop nose, there are also some hint of fruit and yeast in there as well as a light bit of spice. Pancake maltiness, somewhat doughy. This is actually quite enjoyable. Although the only drawback is the presence of alcohol in the flavor and finish as it warms, it does end up turning into a bit of a pine sol type aroma and a medicinal flavor.

Pours a hazy orange, big huge frothy white head, decent retention and bomb ass lacing. Big nose of overripe fruit, flavor is palate ripping, huge bitterness with lots of yeastiness and lots of honey-ish malts, leaves a long bittersweet finish.

May 6, 2008 Bottle Clear amber bpdy with an off-white, creamy head. Good lace. Aroma of oranges, banana, hops, citrus, ... The flavour has an harshly bitter initial boost, but then fades out to more heavily bitter with the appearence of a lightly sweet component and some spices. The bitterness is quite hoppy. Nice complexity and a good balance.

May 2, 2008 2003 bottle from Bier Tempel, Brussels. Amber coloured with a decent, foamy yet short-lived white head. Lively carbonation. Big citrus hop and elderflower aroma with some honey and spice. Herbal, slightly medicinal flavour, with some warming spice and a long, dry finish. Different and enjoyable.

Apr 29, 2008 Poured a cloudy orange with a ferocious white head. The head settled into a thick, creamy white head that showed beautifully. Nice strands of lacing. The aroma was yeast, spice, clove and some buttery hops. The flavor was mild funk, yeast, and a big blast of bittering hops. The mouthfeel is super dry with a nice finish. Different, but kinda nice.

Apr 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a hazy, orange-gold body with a small white head.
Smell: Good gracious, me. A rather odd aroma comprised of notes smelling of wax lips, decaying fruit seasoned with pepper, and hair mousse.
Taste: Vaguely honeyish maltiness. Two big spoonfuls of medicine followed by a sharp, spicy bitterness. Dash of pepper. A bit solventy on the finish. Okay, maybe more than a bit.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: No. Actually I found this to be rather off-putting.

Apr 17, 2008 33cl Bel-style bottle. Golden color. Aroma of sanitized medicine cabinet. Tastes how it smells. Like a medicine cabinet. Could be better without the hops... It’s just a weird beer.
