May 2, 2008 2003 bottle from Bier Tempel, Brussels. Amber coloured with a decent, foamy yet short-lived white head. Lively carbonation. Big citrus hop and elderflower aroma with some honey and spice. Herbal, slightly medicinal flavour, with some warming spice and a long, dry finish. Different and enjoyable.

Apr 29, 2008 Poured a cloudy orange with a ferocious white head. The head settled into a thick, creamy white head that showed beautifully. Nice strands of lacing. The aroma was yeast, spice, clove and some buttery hops. The flavor was mild funk, yeast, and a big blast of bittering hops. The mouthfeel is super dry with a nice finish. Different, but kinda nice.

Apr 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a hazy, orange-gold body with a small white head.
Smell: Good gracious, me. A rather odd aroma comprised of notes smelling of wax lips, decaying fruit seasoned with pepper, and hair mousse.
Taste: Vaguely honeyish maltiness. Two big spoonfuls of medicine followed by a sharp, spicy bitterness. Dash of pepper. A bit solventy on the finish. Okay, maybe more than a bit.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: No. Actually I found this to be rather off-putting.

Apr 17, 2008 33cl Bel-style bottle. Golden color. Aroma of sanitized medicine cabinet. Tastes how it smells. Like a medicine cabinet. Could be better without the hops... It’s just a weird beer.

Apr 16, 2008 When you pour it it comes out all head and no beer, once the beer settles in, it gives a special taste of spicy cloves and herbal hops . tastes like strong alcohol not too much like beer. Decent.

Apr 16, 2008 The aroma is spicy and yeasty with malt and grassy hops. The appearance is amber gold with a LARGE head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is average for the style. I think it’s OK.

Apr 14, 2008 11.2 oz bottle and served in my NB Worthy glass: Hazy amber hue with a HUGE frothy head and excellent lace. The aroma has notes of fusel alcohol, big grassy hops, biscuity malt, slight apricot esters and some hop spice as well. The taste indeed is bitter but not over the top with some acidity and spicy interplay. The malt and yeast are very much a background elements in this brew. Some medicinal and metallic off flavors on the finish. The mouth feel is very sprite (too carbonated) and the alcohol is noticeable (too much for an 8% brew). Some parts of the beer are nice but the overall package is just too muddled and lack any sense of direction.

Apr 11, 2008 Updated: Apr 14, 2008Strange yet pleasantly surprised from the taste of the beer. Was taken back from the amount of head to the point of being annoyed as I awaited a chance to have a taste. The glass was overloaded with a white frothy head that seem to last forever but emanated a nice array of fruity smells with a medium light sweet taste. I don’t think I’ve ever complained about getting to much head till now.
