Pours a slightly hazy golden orange colour with a huge creamy rocky long lasting white head. Sweet, malty and hoppy bitter aroma. Good mouthfeel. Flavour of bitter hops, caramel, toasted malt, and some mild ripe fruitiness. Nice bitter hoppy finish. egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Poured a murky amber brown color with a large, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, hops, coriander, earthy yeast, nuts, citrus, and light alcohol. Taste of light honey, tropical fruit, yeast, a bit of resiny hops, and a dry, slightly alcoholic finish. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2008 This is the, together with the Extra, the best Alvinne-beer. It’s bitter but soft. A shame you don’t see it in the bars so much. CaptainCougar (5493), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a large, airy, clingy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh grassy resiny hops and some lightly sweet pale malt. Body starts lightly sweet with some finely dissolved carbonation boosting the mouthfeel and a big earthy grassy citric bitterness before a drier finish. Has some band-aid off-flavors and could use a little more sweetness, but still a decent Belgian strong ale. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 3, 2008 33 cl bottle. on 3/3/2008. Certainly a beautiful looking beer that is a hazy gold with a large, creamy white head that lasts and lasts, and leaves a sticky, stringy lace. Aroma has a strong herbal character over notes of citrus and some light fruit. Medium body and carbonation, and a resinous, very dry palate. This is quite bitter up front, with light malts fighting for recognition. A distinct medicinal flavor and quality is noted in the finish, reminiscent of iodophor, and I found this distasteful. Seemed unbalanced, lacking the malt support for all the bitterness. Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Bottle from Winking Lizard. The beer pours a hazy golden-orange color with a thick and foamy light beige head that dissipates slowly. Sticky rings of lacing. Tart fruit, yeast and hops aromas. Medium-bodied with an almost puckering tartness. Cherry, citrus and spiced hops flavors outweigh sweet malt and yeast. The finish is fruity with a tart aftertaste. Disappointing overall.
