bierkoning (5987), La Tropica, Netherlands Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Purple red color, cloudy. Cherry and marzipan in the aroma. In the flavor the brett is almost dominating the cherry juice. In the aftertaste the cherry and marzipan notes are clearly noticeable. A most enjoyable beer! angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Sep 27, 2009 Lipstick red pour. Aroma is cranberries, sour, bleu cheese, tartness. Flavor is cranberry, fruity, somewhat cloyingly sweet. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Sep 25, 2009 [9/8/08] Bottle at Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Deep red color with a medium, quickly-diminishing, beige head. Aroma of yeast, cherries, apple notes, some other fruits, wood, some spiciness and caramel notes. Sourish fruity flavor with some cherries, a bit of yeast, some oak , malt sweetness, and mild spicy hoppiness towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Nice. shrubber85 (2832), Wallhalben, Germany Sep 20, 2009 Bottle. Sour cherry and horse blanket aroma. Cloudy ruby red color with minimal head. Light dry sour cherry flavor. Light body. Nice flavor for what’s there - could use a stronger flavor and fuller palate. sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Sep 20, 2009 (Bottled, BBE 2013) Hazy ruby red with a small, mostly fading, pink head. Pleasant, mildly tart aroma of cherry and strawberries and some sweet sugar. Sweetish and slightly acidic cherry flavor with mild, dry tartness in the finish. Light to medium body, slightly watery with medium carbonation. Not very sour at this point, maybe a more aged sample would be in order. Nevertheless, a decent - although quite thin - fruit beer. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Aug 12, 2009 Bottle @ Alvinne. Pours a clear ruby red color wit a small pinkish white head. Has a light malty fruity cherry and red fruit aroma. Fruity light malty slightly tart cherry and red berry flavor. Has a fruity cherry finish with some tart hints. Lagunitasfan (432), San Diego, California, USA Jul 28, 2009 Stone Sourfest. Ruby red in the glass, with a fruit and vanilla smooth nose. Taste is smooth fruity with a dry finish. Bitter on the end. cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 25, 2009 Draft @ redlight redlight. Pours clear ruby, no head, some champagne bubbles. Cherry nose, musty cherry pie spices, a little cardboard. In flavor, cherries, cherry pie spiciness, a little grain, cardboard, lightly tart. Slightly watery body, a bit drying. Overall rather thin and insubstantial. I was underwhelmed after having had so many other good to great beers from Alvinne.
