From the bottle at the Kerstbierfestival -- completing the Three Wise Men. Cloudy, golden orange, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with notes of oranges, honey and evergreen. Dry, bitter flavor with a light sweetness. Thin, warming. Bitter aftertaste. Weaknesses in the body, maybe, but tasty and lots of character.

Comments: Munich malt focused, toasty, medium-bodied, rye-like strong and spicy Belgian strong ale. Perhaps a bit too alcoholic, soapy and fizzy.

Cloudy amber color; huge rocky head. Strong malty aroma. The flavor is malty too, maybe too much alcoholic and bitter at the end (bitterness from the caramel). Very good, but unbalanced.

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Unclear, orange beer with a nice, dense, beige head. Spice, candi, hops, caramel and some burnt sugar in the aroma. The flavor is quite sweet, with some citrus, spices and hops. Full, warming, lightly sticky mouthfeel. Long, sweet finish with alcohol. I think the beer is a bit too sweet, but it’s quite nice and deserves it’s score. (070512)
