Relativement impressionante. Seule coté négatif: Craie en bouche...

Stemware sampler at local beer seminar. Poured a cloudy, gold/amber, with a bubbly, off white ring of head and some fair lacing. Aroma was spices and sweet fruit. The flavor was a little grainy, with spice, sweet fruit and some nice dryness/bitterness. The mustard seed contribution escaped me.

Bottle. Marmalade pour hanging with bits and lacing miraculously at the strength. Beautiful appetising citrus notes leaking from a dense but subsiding white collar; tangerine, juniper, celery, lime pickle. Certainly something herbal, sweet and sourish there I wouldn’t have identified as mustard; dill or horseradish, maybe. Alcohol completely secondary to the hop citrus, candy and gelatinous tang. Milky slick in the mouth, alcohol immediately apparent, blending into soapy citrus, almost grapefruit in the finish. Ends up lean and dry for the style and strength, dangerously so. A couple of pints of this seems perfectly feasible. Golden Ale Eisbock. Hops tanging and intact, some late biscuity malts chipping in. Resins and ethanol in every swill. Good sessions beer.

Pours a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is malty sweet spicy hoppy. Flavor is yeasty, malty, caramel, spice some faint mustard and a very nice hoppiness in the finish. I didn’t expect much going in but this one really surprised me, great beer. I’ll be picking up more of this one.

A very hazy orange colored beer, with a big white head with big voids. The aroma is malty with sweets and spices. The are fruits like almond. The taste of hop bitter, fruits like citrus with almond. There is alcohol in the back. The aftertaste is a long time bitter and it is warm.

Date: 11/11/2008 Source:Other Ale brewed with mustard seed. Fruity citrus nose with spice and hint of alcohol almost wine like. Cloudy amber golden. Chunks of stuff floating around in the glass. Spicy with hints of mustard and wood. Interesting flavor profile. Would have preferred the beer clear without all the chunks.

Bottle from Wine Warehouse - Charlottesville on 10/22/2008. Chunky golden amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel and winey aroma with lots of candi sugar. More sweet caramel flavor, some spice, somewhat sharp sugary hints and fairly spicy notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation that’s fairly prickly.
